Another successful WendyWu holiday, excellent guide (Ilhan) with great knowledge of the places visited on the itinerary. Lovely hotels & good variety of food from many different sorts of restaurants.
Coach driver Mustafa's patience driving group safely around the sights of Turkey was second none.

Multiple problems with the logistics of the tour, missed advertised highlights, some poor quality food, some unwanted additional "shopping" opportunities. Despite going to ABTA stage 1 arbitration Wendy Wu refused to offer what I considered adequate compensation, just £200. Wholly unsatisfactory will not be travelling with Wendy Wu again. Great for China but forget the rest of their white boxed offering which on this experience seem poorly researched. Customer Service response appalling but prompt.

As always very friendly and helpful. Also efficient and explained costs. Gave me my VIP discount without me asking

Tour was ok, but the food was mostly inedible.

This was our 5th Wendy Wu holiday and it was the poorest. Group was too large at 30. In Istanbul, more time was spent queuing than visiting the attractions and the hotel was very tired.

Many of the meals were repeats of each other, some served twice on the same day. Very long travelling times on the bus. Very little free time. No shopping opportunities.

However on the plus side, we liked our tour guide Samih. He was very knowledgeable (perhaps too much information at times). The best meal was the home visit closely followed by Cappadoccia Home Cooking, although we did not get our promised cookery lesson as stated on the itinerary. Another highlight was the visit to the stone house. Appreciated seeing and hearing the owner's way of life. These are the sort of things that Wendy Wu do well.

Overall, the tour tried to cram too much in too short a time.

Very good itinerary but we didn't have enough time at some of the sights, especially those in Istanbul. The hotel in Istanbul was in a good location but otherwise was not up to the usual standard of Wendy Wu.

Pretty good but too many n group for one pwrson to lead and guide. Three people were lost on the first day and others almost left behind i a different place. Some very long days with no warning.

Accomodation not the best and one hotel was awful Food was repetative and our best meal was cooked by a local family in their garden. Guide Ilhan was fantastic but the group size was too large 28 people. Itinery was good but there was not enough time to fit it all in. Too much time in an uncomfortable bus and not enough down time

The holiday was a bit less "polished" than previous Wendy Wu trips we have been on.

The food was repetitive and variable in quality. All hotels had a buffet service except the Kalehan Hotel where the food was excellent, it would have been nice to eat in the hotel the second night rather than going out and having a substandard meal that was served too quickly, 28 minutes from beginning to end.
Maybe with lunch and dinner it might be an idea to know what type of food is to be served, we often got the same meal twice in one day.

The hotels were good except the Oran in Istanbul. As a welcoming hotel for the first few nights the bar area was never open for people to get to know each other. Rooms were tired looking and there was no sound proofing, it was very noisy from other residents.

We would have preferred more time at Gallipoli. The waterfall (Manavgat) was not worth the trip. The guide (Ibraham)was good and knowledgeable. The driver(Ali) was great.

The tipping arrangements seemed confused. On previous trips the guide handed envelopes to the local guides and driver from the £90 euros we had paid but this didn't appear to happen and there was an additional collection from the group for both the driver and the guide..

The Magnesia trip was very informative with an extremely knowledgeable local guide.

The flight from Ankara to Istanbul seemed an unnecessary complication, with a lot of time spent at the airport in Ankara followed by a bus journey of over two hours to get back to the hotel in Istanbul.

All in all we had a great trip, we loved the places we went to and finding out more about this historical country. The balloon ride in Cappadocia was a real highlight of the trip.

Hotel in Istanbul left a lot to be desired not in my opinion Wendy Wu Standard, access for coach impossible so cases have to be carried to hotel as porterage not included.

There was far too much facts and figures which were more suited to university students rather than holidaymakers. A couple of the hotels were below par as were two of the lunches.

Far to much walking. When I booked it said you could be on your feet for 2 to 3 hours. When I received my itinerary it said 6.5 hours on your feet on one day. In the meantime, the Wendy Wu physicality rating was changed from '2 to 3 hours on your feet' to 'most of the day on your feet'.

Excellent tour visiting some very interesting places, but let down by most of the hotels being below Wendy Wu’s normal standards. Food was very variable with the best being at a Turkish family’s home and the worst being uneatable. It appears the local tour company (Karavan Tours) have taken the 28 tour members and Wendy Wu for a bit of a ride. Wendy Wu appears to have not done their research and completely relied on Karavan Tours to organise the tour, thus we had the poorest rooms even in the better hotels.

Several activities on itinerary not delivered. Variable quality food and accommodation. Too much travel at end of itinerary.

Too many issues with change of itinerary, some inadequate hotels.
